On June 29th we organize another Modulab event based on the theme Spirals. We bring you Stefan Alfrink, Emilio Bernè, and LSDice, three absolutely unique performances with modular synthesizers, drums and other hardware for you to enjoy. Please be our guest 😎
When DIY instrument magician Actodisko comes to town, he brings exceptional friends. While playing, food hacker Esther Buiter treated us on delicious fragrances. Furthermore, his friend Arvid Jense fed him the most wonderful analog sounds to mangle with.
Holistic sound artist Skanky Ho did an impressive performance at Modulab Fake Noise in collaboration with dancer Ulrike Doszmann. Noises from tiny boxes, always deep and warm. Her gracious movements in anticipation of the waves. It was quite a remarkable experience.
We had an unusual performance by SAMI in collaboration with Leon van Bokhorst at Modulab Fake Noise. As a source of fake noise, she explored audio snippets of drama from social media and YouTube in her work. The daily stream of soundbites that can withhold us from acting clearly on the things that matter.
The first Modulab event of 2018 takes on Fake Noise as a well of inspiration for our artists. And what a glorious line-up we have. These excellent artists create exciting cross-overs between modular electronic music and added compelling art form of their own choosing.
The last performer at Modulab 2017 is rising star Kristian Jarich. He’s well known for his interlocked melodic sequences and intense spacious atmospheres. Although our venue was bitter cold that night, he provided us with warm and comforting waves.
Panenkov is a master in capturing your soul with his music. He usually starts off very simple and inviting. Before you know it you’ve arrived at an emotional mirror maze. A world only he can lead safely you out off. Eventually, he will… however not just yet.
Geluidsdrug Eindhoven ships two of their finest electronic music performers to Modulab Rituals. Krijn Hendriksen and Thomas Vreeke. Operating under the pseudonym Disruptive Bleepers, they create an immersive soundscape for us to drift in. There’s simply no escape.
