Holistic sound artist Skanky Ho did an impressive performance at Modulab Fake Noise in collaboration with dancer Ulrike Doszmann. Noises from tiny boxes, always deep and warm. Her gracious movements in anticipation of the waves. It was quite a remarkable experience.
Skanky Ho (Luk Sponselee) really shines when there’s no single idea up front. Improvising pure from the heart. In the months before his collaboration with Ulrike Doszmann, there was no rehearsal, no plan, no guide.
If one omits a plan, there’s often that enjoyable tension. Where do we go from here? Eyes find each other looking for a clue of basic understanding or even agreement.
You can feel it, hear it… and it shows… 😊
Flamboyant Antwerp/Eindhoven based imaginative wonder Skanky Ho (Luk Sponselee) is mostly known for his transcendent drone performances, Artspace Flipside, and the magnificent experimental music label Zesde Kolonne.
Dancer and choreographer Ulrike Doszmann is best described by the quote on her website. She states: “The poetry of the lauhgable is underappreciated”.
